Family hubs and local family support

Family hubs bring different services together for children, young people and parents. Availability varies across England, so this page shows what support may be offered and where to search when no hub is nearby.

Support may include

  • Parenting and early-years support
  • Infant feeding and health visiting
  • Speech, language and communication advice
  • Mental-health and relationship support
  • Benefits, debt and employment guidance
  • SEND information, groups and local referrals
  • Support up to age 25 for some young people with SEND

Find support across England

What to ask for

  • A named contact who can explain available routes
  • Information in accessible language or another format
  • Help completing forms or preparing for meetings
  • Details of groups for the child’s age and needs
  • How referrals, waiting lists and eligibility work

When there is no family hub

Search your council website for “family support”, “Early Help”, “children’s centres”, “SEND Local Offer” and “short breaks”. Families can also contact their local SENDIASS for impartial SEND information and advice.
